Are you looking to relieve your symptoms naturally?

I love helping people look for a different approach to health - a more natural approach, in a way that will relieve your symptoms, whilst being conscious of your overall wellbeing. Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine have a regulatory affect on the body, improving sleep, digestion, energy levels, as well as relieving pain and regulating the nervous system. Here at the Acupuncture Place - it's not about looking for a quick fix, but about having a willingness to invest time and commitment to working with me to improve your overall health. The benefits to this approach are far reaching and have a much more longer-lasting effect on your health.

Acupuncture for Pain and Injuries

As a specialist in the area of muscular skeletal injuries and pain, I take a unique approach in your session, using meridian wave techniques.

Your session can include: medical massage, cupping, Gua Sha, magnet therapy, electrotherapy, and rapid release vibration tools.

Acupuncture for General Health

Acupuncture is a natural form of healthcare. The treatment involves the insertion of tiny needles into specific points on the body to affect the central nervous system and help the body release pain relieving endorphins bringing balance to the body. To get to the root cause of the problem, I undertake a full body assessment.

Cosmetic Acupuncture

Whether you’re seeking treatment for a specific problem/condition, have areas you would like to firm, or if you just want that perfect glow, I’ve got you covered. After a thorough consultation to discuss your areas of concern, treatment begins with an individually chosen skincare to clean and prepare your skin.

Tui Na - Chinese Medical Massage

The Acupuncture Place Pocklington

The Tui Na acupressure massage is a deep tissue massage that helps to prevent and recover from injury. The process stimulates movement of energy within the body. The movement of the body’s energy allows healing to take place.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping Therapy begins with the application of a herbal infusion chosen for your particular condition. The suction cups are then applied and used to massage the area.

Inside The Acupuncture Place

"I had a course of acupuncture treatments with Sam last year when I was struggling with poor digestion, anaemia, fatigue and low mood. Sam is so professional and nurturing. I've never felt so relaxed both during and after my treatments. My fatigue notably lifted and I had some very positive physical symptoms both immediately after my treatments and continuing months afterwards. I've not struggled with my iron absorption since and I'm so happy to have been able to avoid iron tablets. Cannot recommend Sam enough, she is a natural born healer!!!" - Katie (February 2016)

"I have been going to Sam for treatments regularly over the past year. Having had breast cancer 5 years ago and a few recurring problems, I've found regular visits to Sam have made a world of difference, both in terms of physically helping to balance some of my aches and pains and fatigue caused by the drugs and also from an emotional and mental point of view, helping me to feel less anxious and more positive about life and more balanced emotionally. I can't recommend this treatment enough, it is life changing and life enhancing on so many levels, whether you have a chronic illness or injury or are just feeling a bit out of sorts, acupuncture at The Acupuncture Place can help." - Anna (August 2016)

Meet Samantha

I initially trained as a therapist, working in the health industry for many years, specialising in skin treatments and various body therapies, including sports and deep tissue massage. I went on to complete my Cert Ed and became a College Lecturer teaching massage in a further education college. Following this, I taught for a private skincare company as a Senior Instructor for 8 years, travelling nationally and internationally, before setting up and running the York School. My role included training therapists on how to treat a wide variety of skin conditions, as well as teaching stress therapy and deep tissue massage. After taking a break to have my daughter, I decided to retrain using my knowledge of the body I had already gained to develop a deeper understanding and to be able to treat a wide variety of health conditions. I have a BSc (Hons) in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, I also lecture part-time at the Northern College of Acupuncture.

On a personal level, I had Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal treatment for IBS and was very happy with the results and that made me interested in Acupuncture. I also wanted to be able to treat patients myself, rather then referring people to other specialists.
