For your first treatment, I will take a detailed medical history and take time to discuss your condition. In Chinese Medicine,  we take your pulse and look at your tongue to help get a better idea of the overall condition of your health. Your treatment will be bespoke and tailor-made to your needs and may include a combination of Acupuncture, Cupping, Tui Na and Moxa Therapy. You can also expect dietary and lifestyle advice to help improve your overall health. Acupuncture works accumulatively with one treatment building on the next to affect change. A course of treatments is recommended, between 6-10 treatments initially, and you can expect weekly treatments. As your condition improves, we can increase the time between appointments. 1hr 30mins

Follow up appointments include a brief chat to discuss how you are feeling before your treatment. 1hr

Tui Na - Chinese Medical Massage

The Chinese Medical Massage begins with a consultation to discuss your condition or injury. The massage is usually performed over clothing, with a white sheet covering you. It can be performed as part of your Acupuncture treatment or as a stand alone treatment.

Cupping Therapy & Gua Sha

Cupping Therapy begins with the application of a herbal infusion chosen for your particular condition. The suction cups are then applied and used to massage the area. Cupping can be used on most areas of the body. During your treatment, the skin can become red and mark, these marks do not hurt and usually clear within a couple of days.

Gua Sha

Gua sha is a healing technique of traditional East Asian medicine. Sometimes called ‘coining, spooning or scraping’, Gua sha is defined as instrument-assisted unidirectional press-stroking of a lubricated area of the body surface to intentionally create transitory therapeutic petechiae called ‘sha’ representing extravasation of blood in the subcutis.
Modern research shows Gua sha produces an anti-inflammatory and immune protective effect that persists for days following a single Gua sha treatment. This accounts for its effect on pain, stiffness.

Moxa is a herb that is used for its intense heating properties, the herb is burnt over an area or acupuncture point to produce a therapeutic warming. This therapy is used in combination to Acupuncture and cupping.
